Idaho Giving Garden
We mitigate food insecurity by growing garden-fresh produce for the Meridian Food Bank and other local food pantries, fostering a healthier and more equitable food system for our community. By surrounding our crops with colorful blooms and fragrant herbs, we attract essential pollinators that help our harvests thrive while supporting an interconnected ecosystem.

Roots of Resilience
Our 2026 spring and early summer crops featured Purple Majesty potatoes—known for their deep purple flesh & antioxidant-rich buttery flavor, garlic bulbs, Blue Scotch kale, and Buttercrunch lettuce, & spinach.
The heat of summer season has transformed the giving garden into a lush landscape of climbing vines & sun-drenched favorites of high-yielding cucumbers, bush beans, tomatoes, zucchini, and squash.
Community Support
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community during the April 2026 Boise Co-op Round-up program, their support made it possible to build a new 128 sq ft greenhouse, add 160 sq ft of raised beds, and we’re now building an additional 136 sq ft of raised beds. These improvements will extend our growing season from two to three seasons and increase harvest yields to serve more people.

Amy McIntyre
ROOT FOUNDER
Amy is an Idaho Master Gardener, with a BA and certifications in Grant Writing and Nonprofit Management, from Boise State University. With experience growing food in urban spaces for the community, our founder brings a blend of big-picture thinking and hands-on experience. She is the heart of the garden. -
Choice Meyer
GARDEN STEWARD
Choice has a BBA in Business Management, from Boise State University, and an extensive background in Accounting and Grant Management. She maintains the ethical stewardship of our donor funds and the fiscal integrity required to support our mission goals. -
Craig McIntyre
ROOT & RECORD KEEPER
Craig is the garden’s strategic architect and transforms ideas into actionable and impactful narratives. He blends the physical grit of building the garden while simultaneously ensuring our organization’s paper-trail is as healthy as the soil & its goals are aligned with our mission.
